privacy issues

Our school has a permission form that the parents have to fill out for personal information to be given out. If they sign it, then the secretary can include that child on a class directory list that parent's can request. but if the parents do not want this info given out, then you can't get it. the list is not just automatically given to every child. Parent's have to request it, for a need such as the addresses or phone numbers to invite kids to a birthday party.
