One way to respond when asked why you were not renewed is to say that you and the administration had professional differences. This might be enough to suffice. I know my husband has said that before, and it was the truth, and the person interviewing him didn't pursue the issue any further. But when pressed, my husband gave some examples that didn't necessarily show him in a bad light, just that his way of doing things didn't jive w/ the district. (My husband is a band director. They tend to change jobs fairly often, like coaches, depending on how successful they were in competitions.)
