In guided reading groups, I play this game after we have started reading a book, but are unable to finish to entire book in one meeting (this is tough
I give them one or two words to help the figure out what part I am thiknin g about in my brain. For example, if we were reading James and the Giant Peach I might say the word "glowing green" and students would need to tell me I am thinking of the magic beans James dropped that created the giant peach. They love this game. I had kids (don't you just love it when they do this?) if they could play read my mind. They brainstormed words as they read and then asked a group member to "read their minds." I have a bunch of other things I do in GR groups here as well. I hate to do the same things over and over. I want kids to be excited about coming to groups.
