parents/open house

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Mandi,

I always do a Scavenger Hunt with my kids for Open House. I have them find their seats, their mail box, the group area, etc. It is always lots of fun for them and they get to take ownership of something
early on. They have to introduce themselves and their parent to me...the last place they have to find is the cafeteria where the school always gives out some kind of treat to the kids who come with their families.

For my news letters, I use the Mailbox Magazine Companion. You need a subscription, but it has templates. All I have to do it type in the information. Very easy
and quick.

I also address all my letters going home (unless to a specific family) the same as the other poster... Dear Families. I have for the past two years sent home behavior reports with each child. It is a check list that I give them a plus, minus or check based on certain behaviors. The parents initial it and return it on Monday.

Hope those help.

Amy
