parent letter

When I job-shared we did something similar to the last poster. We sent home a phamplet welcoming students and parents and detailed specifically which teacher would be responsible for which subjects. We also discussed our discipline plan, expectations, homework plan, etc. I like the idea of having parents sign and return a copy of the letter...it might save headaches later in the year!
