student teacher
By Jen L

Clip to ScrapBook
Everyone's ideas are great. I've had 2 student teachers- and they were both positive experiences. Before my ST arrived, I had a desk with a small welcome basket on it. In the basket, I had different "teacher" supplies-
sticky notes, gel pens, pencils, crayons, markers, colored pencils, notepads, stickers, stamps, tea bags, Altoids, a whistle, etc. I thought the basket made my ST feel at ease in the classroom.

It might be helpful to meet your ST for lunch one day before school starts. That way, the 2 of you can become aquainted with each other and she/he can know your expectations. Also-
your ST can come to school while you are preparing your classroom. I think it's always an eye opener as to how much goes into prepping a classroom.

Other than that- it sounds you have some great ideas for you to think about. Have fun with your student teacher.
