Missing students
By lynn

Clip to ScrapBook
Today was our last day!!! I am excited for summer, but I have had a fantastic year. This was my first year teaching third grade, in the past I have taught kindergarten and second. I have always had special students and
have loved every year. But, after ten years of teaching this is the first year I had a really hard time saying goodbye.

I had some students crying and lots hugging me all day (this group does hug a lot). Normally I will miss a few, but in general I am ready for summer and the challenge of a new group. This year however I really want to keep the fabulous group I have or had
I guess now.

Has anyone had one particular group that was really tough to say bye to? Or maybe third grade is just a perfect match for me? I loved teaching both kindergarten and second and may even go back one day (never say never), but no time soon, I love the curriculum and the age third grade brings.

Anyhow I have always chuckled over the posts about teachers missing their kids over the summer and thought "just enjoy the summer you'll have a new batch in August". This year however it is me missing my kids. Can anyone relate??? Have a great summer everyone.
