Survival Kit

Clip to ScrapBook
I didn't invent this, but I got it one year and saved it to give myself one day.

A bag filled with this stuff and a card explaining it all.

Swedish Fish: to help remember to go with the flow
Safety Pin
: to help you keep your wits together
Lemon Candy: To remember not to let classroom porblems sour your love of education.
Cotton Ball: To help you apply solutions to school day problems.
Sweetarts : to help you find the sweetness in every child
Golf Tee: to remind you that education fits you to a TEE!
Chewing Gum: to help you "chews" to stay calm and relaxed.
Plastic
Top: to remind you that great people like you make the world go around.

On the back are ten ways to get ready for a great school year.
1. Remember to eat well, exercise regularly, and get enough sleep
2. Plan and prioritize. Decide what has to be done; then do the most important things first.
3. Stay positive. Figure out how to resolve your difficulties and keep on track to accomplish your goals.
4. Put things in perspective. When challenges occur, ask yourself if they'll really make a difference tomorrow.
5. Be the best role model you can.
6. Don't be afraid to laugh at yourself.
7. Talk out your problems with a trusted friend, co-worker, or relative.
8. Remember that each child is special.
9. Talk to children, not at them.
10. Make time for yourself, your family, and friends.

I thought it was cute and timeless advice for the beginning of the year.
