I agree with the previous poster. Wait until you get there and get yourself settled in to a new community and school. The advice about waiting to see how the school works is sound advice. That is not to say that you won't have many opportunities to suggest and try some innovative ways to involve parents. Simply that it is usually best (and more successful) if initiatives such as you are suggesting are approached in a collaborative, team based manner.
