Morning Message and Meeting
By Mrs. R :)

Clip to ScrapBook
Have you tried to have a Morning Message for your kids to read? It also sets the tone for the day. As part of the message, I usually have an interactive piece for them (fill in the date, language review, charts or graphs
to fill in etc). They are also responsible to visit the Lunch Counter where they record their lunch choice and look at the lunch claendar in order to see what's for lunch that day. They also have a mailbox where they place thei HomeLink Folders after they empty their homework and notes into the correct baskets. Finally, they get to work on their Morning Work which can be a variety of
things...Poetry Folder, DOL, reading worksheet, handwriting book, etc. I find that if I spend about 6 weeks really working on routines, my school year goes much smoothly than if I didn't attend to the routines. It sounds like a lot of time, but it isn't in the long run! Good luck!
