handwritig woes
By tweet

Clip to ScrapBook
We have not had a new handwriting adoption in more years than I can count. We have McDougell-Little. It is similar to the "modern" or D'Neilian styles, with the "puppy dog tails" at the end of the letters. We like how the manuscript that the early grades teach leads quite easily into the cursive we teach in 3rd, but that's about all we like about this series. Originally the cursive was introduced in 2nd, so we have to use 2nd grade books to introduce individual letters. The 3rd grade book begins with whole words in cursive. And the 3rd grade books we have are not consumable. Real pain! We found a computer CD that has this style font, so we have ended up making lots of our own materials.
