Student teacher help
By Mrs. G

Clip to ScrapBook
Hopefully this will be a great experience for both of you. I had my first student teacher last year and things went very well. First you need to find out what her college requires. She should provide you with this information.

Usually the ST observes and helps out the first couple of weeks then begins to take on one subject each week or so depending on her readiness. If she will be starting in the Fall it may be helpful for her to observe your class the first few days of school when you are teaching procedures and rules.

Last year I keep an ongoing journal with my intern to help answer
questions that she had during the day that I didn't have time to answer. I also left her feedback in the journal and asked her questions about lessons and things that were going on in class.

I hope this is a helpful start for you.:)
