what to do with a student teacher

I agreed to take on a student teacher for the fall. She just contacted me to talk about what I expect and how to proceed. And I realized that I have not given this nearly enough thought! I need some advice from veterans! I need some advice on how to start the year so that I give her experience without failing to establish class rules and routines that I want. How much should I expect her to do and how soon? What is this REALLY going to be like? Help!
