Clip to ScrapBook
I use plastic dimes and dollar bills. The kids earn dimes (I give them for making an A, giving an optional oral book report, being good all week, birthdays, etc.) when they have saved 10 in their film canister banks, they can trade for a paper dollar. Periodically we "shop" in my prize "store". Everything "costs" a dollar. They can shop or save their dollars. they get to buy as many things as they have dollars for.

Personally, I am looking for a way to "tweak" this a bit to start with smaller denomination coins, so we get more practice with counting money. I am thinking of giving nickels instead, and having a class banker to swap for dimes and quarters or something.
