I agree, I think it is normal. I think the fact that you are already rethinking and planning proves that you are a good teacher! If you weren't you wouldn't care about rethinking things. My friend and I start rethinking what we have done earlier than the last few weeks. We keep journals and make notes about how things went and what we would like to do different for the next year. As far as crying -- at my school we have 14 buses that pick up our 1-4 graders---on the last day of school all of the teachers line up in front of the buses....as the buses pull out they blow their horns and the teachers | | wave. I get teary just thinking about it! You see the kids smiling (although a lot are crying---especially the fourth graders who know they won't be back). Even when I have classes that were terrible--I still cry. This year will be awful, because I have had the nicest class--probably in all my 13 years of teaching. I am really going to miss this group. So, I guess my thought is - I think you are a great teacher- tears and all!
