I understand...

Clip to ScrapBook
I used to work at a private school, where the teachers and assistants were given gifts at Christmas and end of the year by almost every student in the class. It made you feel great, and very appreciated - even though I really
didn't need all of those gifts! (I mean, you can only use just so many candles and bath products, right? Although those gift cards to department stores certainly were nice, I admit!)

Then, when I moved to public school, the number of cards and gifts dropped considerably. I was a little surprised, but I knew that some just didn't think of it, and in some cases, they didn't have
the money.

At the end of last year, the gift that made me the most happy was a little card drawn by one of my 3rd grade boys. He had seen some of the cards and gifts brought in by a few of the others, and I guess he felt bad that he hadn't given me anything - so he made this card in class on our last day of school. It was very sweet! :)
