try not to worry

Clip to ScrapBook
It does not reflect on your teaching ability, etc. Most children don't even KNOW to write a card or get a gift of some kind. Until I started teaching, I had no idea that people actually gave things (other than an apple) to a teacher for appreciation. Looking back, I really wish I had done some things for those special teachers in my life, but it just didn't occur to me to do so. My parents certainly were not "with it" to know to encourage me to either. So, don't take it personally; the students will remember you forever (we teachers just hope we are remembered fondly, right?!?!) :p
