Color coding helps me
By tweet

Clip to ScrapBook
I have notebooks for every week of each month. In them are dividers for the subjects I teach, plus OTHER (management stuff). Here I keep exactly what I will need run off, plus art samples, lists of pertinent library books,
websites, etc. that I might use.

In my file cabinet are my master files. I use a different color folder for each subject--math is blue, reading is red, etc. All my games and activities have matching color dots, so I know if this game or that is for math or whatnot. If I need something new or different for a particular skill-say telling timeto the quarter hour-I can go to
the math drawer, find the blue folder that is labeled telling time, then go through that to find what I have.

I also have files by theme, such as the different seasons, holidays, and other stuff like bubbles, or popcorn.

The children turn in work to me in trays that are color coded. they know to put math in the blue tray, reading in the red, etc.
