yakker tracker

Clip to ScrapBook
We have purchased a product called a "Yacker Tracker" that looks like a stop light. It has a dial where you can set acceptable decibel levels for your classroom. As long as the noise level stays below what you set, the
green light stays on. If the noise level goes up, a yellow light flashes. If the noise level does not diminish the red light and a siren(if you choose to program it in) will go off. It has saved me from having to raise MY voice to talk over theirs or to get their attention. When we first got them in the fall, the siren went off all the time--annoying sometimes. But now, it hardly ever
goes off except when somebody's chair falls over or they drop a textbook. Can't remember the manufacturer's name, but it's available in lots of school supply catalogs and some teacher supply stores.
