I've had shingles twice now even though they say most people get it only once. I guess Im that rare breed that will get it forever now - hehe...anyway...I think you should be fine as long as you keep it covered. As far as the teacher next door, if you are uncomfortable with it, I would suggest just keeping a little distance, but I really wouldnt be alarmed. The shingles are related to chicken pox in a way. It's the chicken pox virus that stays dormant in your body and eventually comes out as shingles as an adult, usually from stress. My first outbreak was extremely painful - so if you are in any discomfort I would suggest taking a few days off, plus you don't want it to affect the students if you are not feeling well. Hope you feel better soon!!!
