celebrations...

I do something like a little awards ceremony so that each child gets recognized for a special talent. I call it a Celebration Ceremony and kids get certificates with titles like "Creative Cat" and "Caring Friend" and "Helping Hand". I try not to give any blanket academic awards. For instance, instead of giving an overall math award, I might give two or three-- like "thoughtful puzzler" and "Calculating Kid".
Everyone likes to be recognized for something they take pride in! ;)
