I know it is easier said than done........but here is an idea.
Is it possible for you to "pretend" that you have childcare expenses now. I mean right now before you have children. If you start paying yourself the anticipated daycare fees now {into a special fund that you do not touch --- that's the easier said than done part :o) } you will get a feel for the kind of financial adjustments you will need to make and build up a little "childcare emergency fund" at the same time.

As for the part about managing work and motherhood --- don't worry too much about that. Somehow you will manage. I did and each day the women I work with manage their families and classroom with grace and professionalism. Teachers and mothers are remarkable people.
