I can't tell you about the software and programs, since our district has a website server, but I have changed grades each year since I started, and I've kept a very simple easy to change and update format.
In the| summer, I made the actual skeleton. It has a homepage on which only the main picture changes with the seasons. The links are things like: about the teacher, specials and schedule, character counts, and contact me. Then, all the other links are: Septemeber News, October News, etc... So, needless to say, I only update it once a month (usually at the very end). Your kids could be in charge. | |
What I do, is we use Windows Movie Maker to create a movie with our voices and or pictures for one special activity a month. That's the only thing I put on that page. It gives parents a nice window into the classroom. My website is: http://www.gvsd.org/index.pl?id=7759
There are some other things on there that I didn't write about.
