Advice

Clip to ScrapBook
I have 2 students who fit your description, and they require so much attention! Here are some things I've tried:
- When they cry, I send them out of the room to the bathroom but give them a time limit. I've talked to them before about how they need to compose themselves and come back ready to work. I also try to help them put their problems in perspective.
- For tattling, I tell students that if it doesn't affect them, then they need to leave the problem for me to handle.
- I have limited the amount of questions they can ask and comments they can make. I also urge them to ask themselves the question first and see if they can answer it before asking me. Usually the answer is yes.
