Here is my problem. Usually at our school when children are retained they stay in our room the next year. If this is the case I will have the 2 immature children who are very low, the foster child, 2 more behavior issues who I had to move back to K at the beginning of the year who will be placed back in my room, and the possibility of who knows what kind of other kids I'll get next year. I've been told I will be getting another BED child as well. Am I selfish to ask that some/all of these kids NOT be placed back in my room? I feel that I cope with them ok and that we have built relationships, but I am just so tired of dealing with it. I realize that every year there will be some kind of behavior problem. The thing is, it's exciting to start over fresh every year but I'm not even going to be looking forward to that, knowing what I know about my future class!! I'm dreading it in fact, especially because I will be doing my national boards as well. Please tell me if you think it would be best for these kids to stay in my room or should I ask my principal (who is very supportive) about the possibility of "sharing the love" with my other colleagues (which I feel bad about doing too!). Thanks!!! Anon
