Suggestions for an immature 4th grader?
By SoCalTeach

Clip to ScrapBook
I have a student who is very immature. I also had her in first grade, and she has not changed since then. She often cries at the smallest things (like not having a red pen to correct with, or missing her eraser) which gets
on my nerves, as well as the rest of the class's. She is a major tattletale, coming up to me to tell me what she sees going on in the classroom. She has trouble doing things on her own, for example, coming up to me to tell me that she is continuing her work on the back of the paper - something I automatically know! Throughout her cum card, it states she has had maturity issues and cries
easily. I have also written it on her 3 report cards this year.

Yesterday Dad came up to me (very nice, he really wants the best for her) and asked if I had any suggestions for how to change her immaturity. I told him I'd "consult" with some other teachers and get back to him. So, does anyone have any ideas???:o
