I teach 4th, and give mine the following jobs:
1. Leader - passes out books and keeps group on-task. Also acts as substitute if anyone is absent.
2. Illustrator - draws picture and explains the picture - about the reading of the day.
3. Summarizer - Write a summary about what was read that day.
4. Vocabulary - Writes down any voc. words that someone didn't know - and looks them up in the dictionary to define.
5. Predictor - Makes predictions about what will happen.
They change jobs daily, and keep a notebook with all their jobs in it. We go outside to read, and | |
the kids really enjoy it. The only person who takes paper with them is the vocabulary person. The rest of them do all the writing inside after we get back inside.
