Our librarian focuses on specific authors for each grade level, and she gears lessons on the biographies/books by and about these people. She also does the research process with the children. I would encourage her to work with her individual teachers/grade levels to find out what they are studying, and she can work collaboratively with them through the library. Book Links is a great journal because it provides ideas for using books across the levels. Is the catalog computerized? If so, she will want to do lessons with the kids on how to use it to locate books and other materials.
