Each student has a job in my lit. circles.

Director (writes 5 open ended questions) Passage picker (finds 5 passages and chooses each person to read it aloud to discuss)

Word finder (5 words-discuss,

find it in the book and if they cannot determine meaning from context clues, they look it up or I help them) Artist (draw a picture from the chapter) Connector - connects to own life or something they already read) Evaluator - Evaluates the group's discussion. I provide a matrix and students get a different job each time until the job rotation returns

to their first job.

**If someone doesn't do their job, they are booted from the discussion for the day (they hate that) and get a zero. They still have to complete that worksheet and are given the next worksheet for the following day.
