Hi Debbie,
Thanks for your reply. I have read the Fountas and Pinnell book-excellent. I'm not aware of cunningham's webiste. I guess I'm still confused. With the 4 blocks, is the traditional approach to guided reading eliminated? That is, reading with a small group on their instructional level (taking running records occasionally) while the rest of the class works in stations?? I don't see this address in any 4 blocks books. I've always done DRA's on my students to know where to put them in guided reading books. Shared reading time was just another branch of the literacy program.
