6 pillar books

Here are the books I chose to go with each pillar at the beginning of the year. I have a color copy of the book cover posted in my classroom with the piillar name.

Caring: Wilfred Gordan McDonald Partridge
Trustworthiness:
Horton Hatches an Egg
Respect: Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse
Responsibility: Jonathan Cleaned Up and then he Heard a Sound
Citizenship: Officer Buckle and Gloria
Fairness: Amazing Grace

At the beginning of the year, we did one at a time. I read the book, we discussed it and the pillar. Then, the kids filled out a page in a booklet I made where they

wrote what they have done to show that pillar. Once they wrote it, they got a bead that corresponded to the color of the pillar. At the end, every child had six beads and we made 6 pillar bracelets.
