Linda R - I had to check to see where you were from. We have exactly the same procedure in my school. We each contribute $15 at the beginning of the year and it is used to buy gifts, cards, etc. to recognize births, deaths, hospitalizations, etc. We actually have a written policy as to what will be recognize from this fund, how much will be spent, etc. Each Team is responsible for taking care of this for one quarter of the school year. It works out very well and all is fair.
