I can't have kids and my husband and I went thru infertility for years, so it is hard for me to attend baby showers because I get really depressed. I am happy for the new parents, but it is just too emotional for me so I don't go. But people at work can't understand why I don't attend and they think I am being a snob. Some of them know the situation but still don't get why it hurts so much. It makes it hard. I get a gift card and drop it by or have someone take it along. I wish they didn't have them at school so it didn't cause so much pressure or guilt.
