why do we take away recess ?? By Mr. Question

I have read a lot of post and am really concerned. It seems most feel like taking away recess is a realy good way to implement classroom management. I am not in favor of this and wonder why we choose it. Those students who are already struggling it seems more detremental than helpful to take away the one time a day they have to loose some of that unwanted energy.
