Clip to ScrapBook
When I was on maternity leave 17 years ago I ended up supply teaching for a friend. She had grade 1, I taught grades 6, 7, 8. Her student teacher was on the last week of her placement in that class. I felt terrible because
she was doing all the work and I didn't feel I was offering her enough help. It bothered me for years that somehow I hadn't done enough for this girl. Last year by chance we happened to sit by each other at a mentor-training workshop and played the "do I know you game." After we figured out when our paths had previously crossed she mentioned that she always felt that was her best
student teaching experience because she had so much freedom and felt so in charge. I was thrilled that she remembered the experience so positively and told her how I had felt. Same situation --- 2 different reactions. :o
All this is to say that there is a good chance this will be your best week yet.
Have fun.
