When I was student teaching, my co-op teacher was out quite a bit. It wasn't a big deal. Make sure you try to include him/her by having them work with individuals or small groups. That way they won't get bored and won't have time to focus on giving you advice. I did get good advice from subs when I was student teaching but, thankfully, it was only when I asked for a suggestion.
