music is good

Clip to ScrapBook
When I'm working in the room with no one there, I work really well and am able to concentrate with music playing. I find it energizes me. I have been to several workshops on the use of music in the classroom. The 60-beats-per-minute
music is supposed to be great for background music when students are working on tasks. I find the music drowns out all the incidental noises that distract the most ADD kids (myself included). Baroque music is characterized by 60-beats-per-minute. I purchased a CD of baroque music just for the classroom. It is one of several classical CDs I use. A totally quiet room is
distracting to me. A sneeze is like a bomb going off and then everyone starts giggling and then the silence is gone. With music playing these little sounds don't have the impact they usually do.
