..but it wasn't based on any research! Our principal decided that we could use less noon-time aides with this schedule.

My students have recess at 12:30...they start lining up for lunch at 12:40, I pick them up from
the cafeteria at 1:15.

I hate it....10 minutes isn't enough play time for my second graders. If its inside recess I'll usually let them start a few minutes early, but then that takes away from my instructional time. 30 minutes is much longer than any of them take to eat, so they are constantly talking in the cafeteria and then getting in trouble with the noon time aides.

Before, they had lunch first, and whenever the whole class was done the aide took them to play, but it is true that they were more wound up right after recess, but we worked with it.
