The oral component is a given ie. Calendar(months, days, number date), Weather Conditions, Temperature, Counting Days to School, Daily News.This takes a total of 20 minutes but is an excellent assessment of oral communication skills in terms of listening, questioning, retelling and other higher level thinking skills. Journal writing (personal, math, science or social studies) is done daily.
