I am a 6th grade teacher, but I'm tutoring a 1st grader after school in reading. He knows most of his letters and sounds, but reaches frustration at the pre-primer level. He knows some sight words. What can I try with him? He struggles reading about anything I give him. I feel I am not as knowledgable with early readers. Please help. I want to make our tutoring sessions worthwhile.
