M&m
By Brooke S.

Clip to ScrapBook
I orginally posted about the M&M lesson. First, let me say that I am so excited that you tried it and it worked well for you. I had only ever done it as a "student" in college. I teach 2nd grade so my kids are too young.
There are more of those types of lessons. They are called Interactive lessons. I think you can buy a book with the ideas. Maybe someone can find it online.

For Peach:

Boston Tea Party:
Every child gets M&Ms. They all get different amounts (representing that different people have different amounts of money). Then some people are the colonists, 2 are tax collectors, 1
is the king, 2 are parliment. The king has cards that have different items on them. If the student had the item they have to pay a certain amount of "tax" (M&Ms) to the tax collector. Basically it shows how it led to the Boston Tea Party by the colonists getting angry with how they are taxed.
