Clip to ScrapBook
Well, I don't know about fun, but I assign daily homereading and word practice (test is Thursday for that week's words). Occasionally I there are math flash cards to practice and keep, as appropriate, copied on dark colored
copy paper and cut apart in class by the student.

I send home the occasional assignment to do with science, s.s. or health lessons. And I rotate a class set of backpacks with either a literacy or math base. They stay at home 5 days, including the weekend. These are not considered homework, so not marked, but strongly encouraged. The math ones have games and activities from
my teachers guide using dominoes, cards, dice, calculators mostly. The literacy ones feature a great childrens book along with some activities that go with the book - puppets, sorting activities, writing, retelling with magnets, etc. I got those from a book I bought at convention.

That's pretty much it, besides their library book.
