averkey use By imafostermom

I made many powerpoints and found many pre made ones online and I use them to supplement my lessons. I have the sight words for 1-3rd grade and we run through them daily like using flashcards. I made our (2nd grade Scott| Foresman reading series) vocabulary words on powerpoint for each story with a sentence, definition, picture (animated when possible), and sometimes sounds. I have a beginning of the year powerpoint I play at open house. I have a math vocabulary one that is animated which is nice for things like volume (it shows a glass filling up). I made one for simple machines and there was a site with | | a whole set on mattter that I saved and use each year. I also have grammar ones. The most fun for the kids are the jeopardy http://www.hardin.k12.ky.us/res_techn/countyjeopardygames.htm and millionare games we play. The averkey is also good for showing the kids your class website so they will use it at home and I showed them www.bookadventure.com site (free to take tests on books...like AR) so they can access it at home when they read a book. I also show them neat sites I have found for units we are learning like http://bensguide.gpo.gov/ and http://www.internet4classrooms.com/skills_2nd.htm They are very helpful if your TV is big enough for all to see clearly. I can forward the powerpoints I have if you like. It may take a few emails, I have quite a few. You can save them to your computer and then open them up and adjust them as needed. That is what I do when I find premade ones. Email me if needed. jaybirds1@comcast.net
