One put down equals three put ups
By Daisy

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach 2nd grade but I'm sure this would work for all. At the beginning of the year when I am setting rules and procedures, I explain for one put down, you must say three put ups. (We model ups and downs) I usually only have this problem the first few weeks of school.
For example:
One students says to another "You're ugly today" (put down) All students sit on floor only the two involved stand. The child who said You're ugly today must apologize then say three nice things (put ups) to the other child. They shake hands and the one who was called ugly accepts apology.
Hope this helps it's pretty simple.
