Trophies
By nuhusker98

Clip to ScrapBook
We use Trophies in our school district. I don't think it is overly difficult for students. I like the intervention program and readers they have for the students who are not working at grade level. I teach fifth grade,
and I basically follow the plan that the TE provides at the beginning of the lesson, but I do find that I have to supplement the skills with additional practice opportunities, and provide more vocabulary practice for the kids. It is also nice that the spelling, writing and language programs are tied into the reading. I like the fact that I can find most of the selections in the library.
It's nice for the kids to read a selection from a novel, and then go check out the book from the library and read the whole thing. There is a nice mix of genres in Trophies that expose students to topics they wouldn't naturally choose for themselves.
