I teach in Florida. I wouldn't say that the problem is so much of a shortage of teachers, as much as it is a need for hiring more positions because we passed a class size reduction law. At my school we have hired 10 teachers every year for the last 3 years because of that, turnover and retirement. Florida would be a great place to get a job. I work in Okaloosa county. We have scored very well the past few years. It's a great school system. (panhandle~Northwest Florida)
