I totally understand, but after I became a parent of a peanut allergy child I totally changed my thinking. :)
For your students: You will want to send home a note explaining this allergy. Tell parents to send in party treats/birthday treats that do not contain egg (gum/candy/popcicles) there are several choices out there.

Also there is a great allergy web site for parents/others on sheknows.com feel free to ask any questions on that message board.
