The first grade teachers at my school have a lot of fun teaching about Johnny Appleseed, whose birthday is in September. At the beginning of the year we learn the Johnny Appleseed "prayer":"The Lord is good to me,
and so I thank the Lord
for giving me the things I need,
the sun, the rain, and the apple trees!
The Lord is good to me!"
