Reading Comprehension
By Virginia

Clip to ScrapBook
Tamra,

Your student may enjoy a creative writing activity to reinforce comprehension skills. Have your student fold a paper to create eight squares. In each square print a sentence about the story and illustrate it. This will be his/her storytelling plan. Once your student has created a plan, tape record your student retelling the story in his/her own words .. add a little background music for drama!

One other fun way to reinforce comprehension -- ask your student to create a comic strip with four or six frames detailing the story. Add some colorful illustrations and have family and friends admire the young author's work!

I hope these ideas help you.
