I do it!

Clip to ScrapBook
I agree that if they turn in a paper it should be complete. I figure it is hard enough to sit down and grade stacks and stacks of papers, if I acutually have to work harder to figure out who gets the credit it is going to cost them in the way of points. I take off 5 points for no name/heading. I take off 5 points for messy work. I feel like this is fair because I take into account how I know they are able to write. I teach 2nd. If a child has horrible handwriting we work to improve it. Once I see improvement I expect the handwriting to reflect that amount of improvement. In other words I don't take off if it is not perfect. I do take off if it is not THEIR personal best.
